Wiggin, the leading entertainment law firm, hosted its inaugural Film & TV Summit on Thursday, bringing together industry leaders to tackle the sector’s most pressing challenges and chart its future. Against a backdrop of rapid technological advancements and shifting audience behaviours, the summit focused on the financial, creative, and workplace issues transforming the film and television landscape.

Navigating transformation in Film & TV

The film and TV sector is at a crossroads. With challenges ranging from securing financing for innovative projects to navigating the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on creativity and production, the event addressed critical questions such as:

Wayne Garvie, President of Sony Pictures Television, delighted and engaged the audience with five reasons the industry should be cheerful, despite all the challenges it currently faces – highlighting, among other points, the significant growth in content consumption and the UK’s stellar record of producing and exporting outstanding content. Wayne ended with a rallying call for the industry to be agile, leverage its strengths, and embrace the opportunities that may emerge from the current strife.
