Following the ICO’s statement on its regulatory approach during the COVID-19 pandemic, which addressed how the ICO was reassessing its priorities and resources (see item above), the regulator has now decided to pause its investigation into real-time bidding and the Adtech industry.
The ICO said that it was not its intention to put undue pressure on any industry at this time. However, the ICO said that its concerns about Adtech remained and that it would aim to restart its work in the coming months, “when the time is right”.
