Joris is an associate in the Intellectual Property team. Joris joined our team after completing a one-year traineeship at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Prior to the EUIPO traineeship, Joris completed an LLM in Intellectual Property and ICT Law (KU Leuven). Joris wrote his master thesis on the protection of street art by copyright law.
“As a trainee at the EUIPO, I assisted in the examination of EUTM applications. During my time at the EUIPO, I also researched IP and cybersecurity for the IP Campus competition.
Before joining Wiggin, I gained some experience in trade mark and design portfolio management, when I worked as a student at a trade mark attorney firm.
At Wiggin, I work mostly on copyright and trade mark matters for clients active in the media sector.”
