LONDON – Media, entertainment and technology law firm Wiggin LLP has announced the appointment of David Quli as its new Managing Partner with effect from 1 October 2024.

David will take on responsibility for the operational management of the firm, working closely with CEO John Banister, who will retire in March, and Senior Partner Ben Whitelock.

Ben Whitelock, Senior Partner, Wiggin said: “David and I already work together on the firm’s partnership board so I have first-hand experience of his insight into the business of law, and his determination to be a guardian of Wiggin’s unique culture – I look forward to continuing that work with him. I would also like to thank John for the significant contribution he’s made in leading the firm over almost 22 years at Wiggin.”

David Quli, Managing Partner, Wiggin said: “I’m delighted to take on the role of Wiggin’s Managing Partner and to have the opportunity to continue John’s efforts in the operational leadership of the firm, working alongside Ben and the partnership board to lead the firm through the next phase of its strategy and to ensure Wiggin continues to deliver a market-leading service for its clients, whilst remaining a special place to work.”

David joined Wiggin in 2007 to help grow the firm’s film and TV practice – it is now one of the largest teams in the industry, and tier 1 ranked in the leading legal directories. He is a specialist media finance lawyer, having advised financiers, producers and distributors on all matters relating to the financing of the development, production and exploitation of films, television programmes, video games and music. David is listed in the Legal 500’s ‘Hall of Fame’, in Band 1 by Chambers Partners, and is described by clients as “hugely knowledgeable” and “an industry leader in all ways”.
