Bethany Fox (née Hill)

Associate

Bethany is an associate in the data protection and litigation teams.

“I advise on all aspects of data protection and privacy, with a particular focus on compliance, risk management and dispute resolution. I help organisations navigate complex regulatory obligations, from data governance, digital transformation and AI projects, to responding to data subject rights requests and regulatory engagement.

I have acted in high-profile privacy and data protection disputes, including RTM v Bonne Terre & Hestview (now before the Court of Appeal) and Noel Clarke v The Guardian. This litigation experience gives me a strategic edge, enabling me to anticipate how compliance challenges can develop into disputes and to help clients avoid and resolve them.

I have gained in-house experience through a secondment supporting digital transformation and data protection initiatives. I am also a qualified PDP Data Protection Practitioner.

My work is particularly sector-focused, advising clients in media, technology and other regulated industries where data protection interacts with wider legal and regulatory frameworks. This intersectional approach means I offer practical, commercially minded advice at the point where privacy laws and other regulations meet.

I trained at Wiggin, gaining a broad cross-section of experience across the firm’s key practice areas and sectors, which has given me a rounded perspective on the legal and commercial issues clients face. My background in music also gives me a unique insight into the creative industries I advise.”
