The National Crime Agency (“NCA”) has published revised guidance on how to use the new portal for submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (“SARs”). The guidance is part of UK Financial Intelligence Unit’s current work to review and update its guides to best practice.

The new SAR Portal was launched last year following the Government’s announcement of a programme of reform to improve the experience of users as well as to improve the quality and quantity of reporting. As of 4 March 2024, all SARs must be submitted through the SAR Portal, and the new guidance from the NCA takes users through how to register on the portal and how to submit SARs.
