The European Scrutiny Committee has launched an inquiry to consider the UK’s new relationship with the EU. The Committee says that the end of the post-Brexit transition period and the conclusion of the UK/EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) mark a significant change in the UK’s relationship with the EU. The Committee is especially interested in:

  • the implementation and operation of the UK/EU Withdrawal Agreement (and the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland);
  • the TCA and the joint decision-making bodies that it establishes; and
  • the Government’s plans for facilitating Parliamentary scrutiny of future UK/EU relations.
