In June 2022, EURid, the domain name registry for .eu domain names, signed a new service concession contract with the European Commission, which will take effect on 13 October 2022. The contract is for an initial period of five years and may be extended once for an additional period of a maximum of five years.

The new contract contains the following changes:

  • updated Terms and Conditions between EURid and the domain name holder;
  • updated Accredited Registrar Agreement between EURid and Registrar; and
  • updated ADR Rules for the resolution of domain name disputes.
