Insights EU Commission to assess US Viasat’s proposed acquisition of US satellite provider Inmarsat

The EU Commission has accepted the requests of several Member States to assess the proposed acquisition of UK-based Inmarsat by its US rival Viasat (given the cross-border effects).

Both players operate their own satellite networks and are active in providing global satellite communication services.
