Insights Civil Procedure: New King’s Bench Guide and Practice Direction update published

A new version of the King’s Bench Guide has been published, making a number of changes since the full revision of the Guide in 2022. The tenth edition includes, among other things, updated guidance on open justice, anonymity, and non-disclosure orders; contempt applications; and resources available to litigants in persons.

Separately, the Master of the Rolls and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice have signed the 166th Practice Direction Update which will introduce a new Pilot Practice Direction (PD 51ZE) relating to the introduction of compulsory mediation in small claims cases on 22 May 2024 (previously commented upon here).
