September 2016 will be a crucial month for EU copyright law. From key Court of Justice jurisprudence due to be handed down on 8 September 2016 to the release of the second wave of copyright legislation on 21 September 2016, those active in the sector will have to consider the potential impact of these developments.

We are delighted to invite you to the next Breakfast Briefing in our series, in which partner and head of our Brussels office Ted Shapiro and associate Sunniva Hansson will:

  • Consider the outcome of the Court of Justice judgment in GS Media v Sanoma (Case C-160/15) and the Advocate General’s Opinion in the TV Catchup II case (Case C-275/15), their impact on the licensing and enforcement of copyright works as well as the potential interplay with the legislative package.
  • Outline the key changes in the latest wave of the European Commission’s proposals for copyright legislation, consider their overall impact and discuss next steps.

The briefing will be followed by a Q&A session and an opportunity to network.
