LONDON – Media, entertainment and technology law firm Wiggin LLP has announced the appointment of Charles Moore, head of its Film and TV Group, as its first Senior Partner.

As Senior Partner, Charles will have ultimate responsibility for delivering the firm’s new strategy in line with Wiggin’s core values, leading the firm’s internal and external communications and will work closely with CEO John Banister in the day-to-day running of the firm.

John Banister, CEO of Wiggin said: “The announcement of our first Senior Partner is a significant strategic step for Wiggin as we pursue our vision to be the destination law firm for a digital world. I look forward to working with Charles to ensure that the firm’s impressive progress continues.”

Charles Moore, Senior Partner, Wiggin said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to take on the role of Wiggin’s Senior Partner. It’s an incredibly exciting time for the firm. We have enjoyed a period of sustained growth and success in all of our core areas of expertise and we now have a new vision and strategy that takes the firm forward over the next 5 years. My role will be to help us deliver on that strategy whilst ensuring that the unique culture here at Wiggin remains at the forefront of everything we do.”

Charles joined the firm in 2004 to establish Wiggin’s market leading Film & TV Group. Charles represents most of the US film studios, TV networks, major cable companies and SVOD platforms, as well as many of the leading UK and European independent producers and distributors. He also initiated the lobbying of the UK Government and played a leading role in the consultation process that resulted in the introduction of the UK High End TV Tax Credit, which has revolutionised the UK TV sector. During his career he has acted as either the leading legal adviser or executive producer on many high-profile feature films and is also a Board Member of the British Film Commission.

The announcement is in parallel with the naming of a new partnership board who will support the delivery of the next phase of Wiggin’s strategy for growth. In addition to John and Charles the new partnership board members will be Caroline Kean (Litigation/IP), Sean James (Digital Commerce), David McLeish (Corporate), and Alan Owens (Tech sector lead) as Compliance Officer for Legal Practice.
