The MMF has gathered some information that managers should be aware of if the UK leaves the EU in March without a deal. The MMF says that the information has been taken from various sources and is subject to change depending on the decisions made by the UK Government. Managers should ensure that they are in dialogue with business partners to take the necessary precautions relevant to their artists’ businesses.

The Government has issued information to say that from the 29 March 2019, drivers from the UK will need extra documentation to drive in the EU and EEA. In the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal, UK drivers may also need an international driving permit to drive in the EU and EAA.

Managers should also ensure that their insurance policies are valid outside the UK and that any necessary considerations are in place when travelling from the 29 March.

Some management companies have included a day off between UK and EU tour dates in case of any customs issues whilst their artists are on tour. The MMF’s note includes a list of guides with some useful information:

Additional things to consider, the MMF says, are any changes to visa requirements, especially for UK artists performing in the EU plus any new rules and charges for the import and export of merchandise and goods while on tour. To access the MMF’s advice, click here.
