Elizabeth Wiggin

Senior Associate

Elizabeth is a commercially savvy litigator who advises clients across the media, publishing, entertainment and technology sectors. She’s been consistently recognised for her excellence in Reputation Management, earning the titles of Rising Star and Leading Associate by The Legal 500 for 2023, 2024, and 2025. Additionally, she’s been acknowledged as an Associate to Watch by Chambers for 2024 and 2025.

“I work fiercely to protect my clients’ interests and enforce their rights in challenging and often stressful situations. I understand that litigation can be an unwanted and worrying distraction and I aim to offer pragmatic and responsive advice to help resolve disputes efficiently so that my clients can concentrate on their day jobs.

I am solution oriented and work collaboratively with clients to ensure that they are in as strong a position as possible when dealing with a dispute. I am experienced in advising clients both at the pre-action stage and once proceedings have been issued before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

I have particular expertise in defamation and privacy related disputes and frequently defend clients in the media and publishing sector. I have helped manage some of the highest profile cases of recent years with the highest degree of public interest, which gave impetus to a reform of libel law and the UK’s first anti-SLAPP legislation. These cases include the claims brought against the author, Catherine Belton, and her publisher, HarperCollins, and the claim brought by the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation against the author, Tom Burgis, and his publisher, HarperCollins

Elizabeth Wiggin is excellent. She instills confidence, is a grafter, and is an absolute pleasure to work with.
