Key contacts

We’ve been delighted to have again worked collaboratively with other members of the TLA Blockchain Legal and Regulatory Group and the Society for Computers and Law on the third edition of the Blockchain: legal and regulatory guidance report.

The guidance sets out suggested best practice for legal practitioners working on transactions involving smart legal contracts and solutions to anticipated problems. The tax section been written by Ceri Stoner whilst tech specialists Marcus Bagnall, Gabrielle Tanner and Ben Towell authored the section dealing with decentralisation.

The guidance sets out the key issues that lawyers must be aware of when advising on DLT-related matters such as commercial applications, smart contracts, data governance, blockchain consortia, data protection and security, intellectual property, dispute resolution and cryptoassets. It also identifies areas where further guidance from regulatory authorities or other bodies may be required.

The guidance is accessible here.
