The information, in the form of frequently asked questions, is aimed at helping operators manage compliance with Government guidance on reopening with continued compliance with the Licence conditions and codes of practice (LCCP). The Commission is also reminding operators they are still expected to continue to follow Customer Interaction guidance as doors are reopened to consumers.
Which premises can open? — there are different arrangements in place for land-based gambling premises across the devolved administrations; the Commission links to documents setting out the various arrangements for England, Scotland, and Wales; the Commission also advises reading Trade Association guidance, in particular the Betting & Gaming Council (BGC) guidance for Betting Shops opening in Tier 3 areas.
Do operators still have to meet all the Gambling Act and LCCP requirements? — yes, there are no changes to operators’ obligations; the Commission therefore expects operators to have confidence in their ability to be fully compliant with the requirements when they reopen; the Commission warns that where it finds evidence of non-compliance, it will take swift action.
